IPL 2023 Schedule
IPL 2023 commenced with a thrilling encounter between defending champions Gujarat Giants and Chennai Super Kings at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium on the 31st of March 2023. In their debut season, under the leadership of Hardik Pandya, GT exhibited their dominance, clinching a top spot in the IPL 2022 table with 20 points in 14 matches, including ten wins and four losses.

In the playoffs, GT emerged victorious against Rajasthan Royals, qualifying for the final. RR, who secured the second position, encountered Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Eliminator, where they won by seven wickets, securing a spot in the final.
GT clinched the victory in the final held at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium, defeating their opponent by seven wickets. Shubman Gill’s unbeaten score of 45 off 43 balls, including three fours and a six, led the team to chase down 131 runs in just 18.1 overs.
Hardik’s impressive three-wicket haul limited RR’s score to 130/9 in 20 overs. The skillful performance earned GT’s captain the title of Player of the Match.
The upcoming IPL 2023 season will feature 70 league games, including 18 double-header matches. Each team will play seven home and away games, with Rajasthan Royals starting their two home fixtures in Guwahati before moving to Jaipur, and Punjab Kings hosting their first five games in Mohali before two home matches in Dharamshala.
